I don't know where you got your definitions of socialism and communism from, but they aren't accurate according to Marxism. In Marxism, socialism is the intermediate stage in-between capitalism and communism (capitalism -> socialism -> communism). In socialism, the means of production are collectively owned through the state, and the task of the state is to safeguard the revolution from reactionism and eliminate class distinctions. 1/3
@TheDialecticalCommunist Not so sure about communism ? Socialism makes more sense in my view.
"Socialism and communism are both economic and political systems that advocate for public ownership and aim to reduce inequality, but they differ in their approaches. Socialism allows for some private ownership and seeks to redistribute wealth through democratic means, while communism calls for complete state control of resources and aims for a classless society through revolutionary change."

Once class distinctions have been fully eliminated, the state will slowly become more and more irrelevant since class won't exist anymore and the primary purpose of a state is for one class to subjugate other classes, and will eventually wither away completely, in which case society would transition from socialism to communism, a stateless, classless society where the means of production are communally owned. 2/3

What you seem to think "makes more sense to you" is something like Social Democracy, which isn't socialism, but a version if capitalism with some state ownership of means of production and strong welfare programs, but where the exploitative relationship between the capitalist class and working class still exists. 3/3
@Radical_EgoCom @TheDialecticalCommunist Is this more accurate in your estimate?

No. This is just the same thing you said before but with more words. This article also incorrectly conflates reformist socialism with all socialism, completely ignoring revolutionary socialism. The writer of this article has no idea what socialism or communism is.
