I don't know where you got your definitions of socialism and communism from, but they aren't accurate according to Marxism. In Marxism, socialism is the intermediate stage in-between capitalism and communism (capitalism -> socialism -> communism). In socialism, the means of production are collectively owned through the state, and the task of the state is to safeguard the revolution from reactionism and eliminate class distinctions. 1/3
