Once class distinctions have been fully eliminated, the state will slowly become more and more irrelevant since class won't exist anymore and the primary purpose of a state is for one class to subjugate other classes, and will eventually wither away completely, in which case society would transition from socialism to communism, a stateless, classless society where the means of production are communally owned. 2/3
