@liaizon I only ever review restaurants in #HappyCow.

It's proprietary and not exactly not-for-profit but this is a difficult space so I accept imperfection. Restaurant reviews require opinionated moderation; otherwise, profit rules.

I nevertheless wish well to #Yelp in its antitrust struggle using the #DMA.

DDG, OsmAnd etc. ought to be able to license reviews at reasonable fees. (If I had many reviews I'd try to export them to lib.reviews.)

      HappyCow

It is the largest online platform of its kind specializing in vegan food discovery. The platform hosts over 220,000 businesses in over 180 countries, with over 1.5 million reviews, more than 2 million photos, and 14 million monthly listing views. The directory contains restaurants, cafes, bakeries, juice bars, food trucks, catering services, shops and food stores which are either fully vegan or offer vegan options. The initial definition for veg-friendly was based on a minimum menu content being at least 60% vegetarian. This has since been modified into a...

Google’s changes do not comply with Digital Markets Act
      from @Yelp
Europe’s Digital Markets Act (DMA), which aims to “make the markets in the digital sector fairer and more contestable” comes into effect on March 6. In anticipation of this deadline a number of designated “gatekeepers” have begun to signal their putative compliance plans in various forms, including public statements, workshops, and even pushing changes live […]

Is there an open source / non commercial / community run place to review restaurants? I see https://lib.reviews but I don't see an API and sorta seems like its a side project. I also saw this very sparse OSM wiki page about the topic here https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Reviews
