Is there an open source / non commercial / community run place to review restaurants? I see https://lib.reviews but I don't see an API and sorta seems like its a side project. I also saw this very sparse OSM wiki page about the topic here https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Reviews
I'd love to replace Google Maps for POI searching (restaurants, museums, etc.) that also includes reviews. What are some good alternatives?
It would have been amazing if there was an open platform. The closest I could find was https://lib.reviews/, but it doesn't seem to be that actively developed, unfortunately.
@probgoblin @mforester @bookwyrm
A *lot* of people have asked for something like BookWyrm but for films and TV, I guess video games is another area it could go into too.
As far as I know there's nothing on the Fediverse like this.
Someone could fork BookWyrm to make it about other topics, but they'd also have to get a source of game or film data.
Wikidata does have this data, but apparently it takes some work to get this into a form that works with a federated platform. On BookWyrm, the book data was based on work done by personal library platform @inventaire
Outside the Fediverse, there's https://lib.reviews but I don't know its current status.
