    AI seriously baffles me because I can't believe we're at a point where we read articles and need to ask ourselves if it was written by a person, a stupid person, or an algorithm.

      @Kierkegaanks @Alice I don't know about 25 years ago, but before LLMs there were a lot of popup sites that were basically just junk thrown together by someone who didn't even really know English well and who didn't bother checking things or anything. Basically the human equivalent of a LLM... The only thing that changed in regards to those sites is they just use a LLM instead of a human now.

      @nazokiyoubinbou @Kierkegaanks @Alice The difference is that instead of "poor English" signaling bullshit, "immaculate English following stupid grade-school formulas and with extraneous fluff all over like a kid trying to meet a teacher's word count requirement" is now the signal for bullshit.
