It is virtually impossible for me to call someone an anti-racist if they supported neoliberalism, deregulation, American imperialism, consolidation of state power, and capitalist extraction; all of which have inherently racialized components as a result of being power processes founded in inherently racialized hierarchies in a country built on slavery and genocide.
The best you can really say is "well he meant well" and that's a subjective value judgment. The dude gave us the Taliban ffs.

Joe Biden is REALLY good at saying "this makes me sad" while doing objectively fascist shit and I don't hear anyone with a brain calling him "a fundamentally decent man."

Carter was a pretty terrible president who did a lot to expand American imperialism, create the geopolitical climate that gave you the Taliban and Bin Laden, usher in neoliberalism, empower American oligarchy, and hand the country over to Reagan on a silver platter. Those are just the facts man.
I'm trying to bite my tongue because for some reason you folks need heroes and narratives; but fuck man, pick better heroes and narratives because reality don't stop being real if you feel a way.
