   @khm @lanodan toybox is unfortunately subject to the same size coding silliness as BusyBox. Considering the effort required for the switch, I am doubtful that it would be a worthwhile improvement.

     @nmeum @khm Yeah switching to chimerautils would make more sense than switching to toybox to me.
     
     Although it ends up at 2.9MB installed which is roughly 3× the size of busybox. And grabbing BSD utilities means you'll end up with various incompatibilities with code assuming GNU extensions are present, the only thing left is coreutils…
     
     Which is part of why I started writing https://hacktivis.me/git/utils-std/ (still very WIP).

     @lanodan @nmeum @khm yes i think chimerautils would be interesting, but in the end is too much work due to inconsitencies

     utils-std sounds promising, i'll keep an eye on that. thanks for developing this!
