@Fragglemuppet Yup, I have and use portable note takers. The majority of working age folks who's only disability is blindness seem to prefer laptops or phones. For me because I need braille having a laptop is annoying and I hate it because it's so much crap taking up so much space. So a note taker is all in one and that works better for me.
@DavidGoldfield Well all I really want it for is portability and convenience, so if anyone's made a really really tiny laptop, I guess I'd be okay with that too, lol.
@Fragglemuppet Yes and yes, in that order. 😀 I think there will always be a place for specialized notetakers with many blind consumers. Some folks do use them. Others would like to but may not be in a position to afford them. Others who might be in a position to afford them choose not to purchase them and instead prefer mainstream products.
@Fragglemuppet Are you looking for something with Braille output or just speech? If you're looking for a speech-only product, you could research the BT Speak. To be fully transparent, I work for the company which develops that product but it's a product I really believe in. www.BlazieTech.com
@DavidGoldfield@Fragglemuppet Sadly that sort of tech is absolutely out of my price range. Sad there is no payment plan. TBH want something where I can use braille too
@Fragglemuppet Hi. No, the BT Speak itself costs $1195.00. The leather carrying case costs $92.95. Also, if you order via PayPal, you may get offers to pay in installments but that is controlled by PayPal and not by Blazie Technologies.
@Fragglemuppet@DavidGoldfield But is it blazy that offers the payment plan? Cause if paypal does, it's probably subject to credit approval and such with their pay later service
