Elon Musk is an object lesson in the perils of losing any sense of proportion—he got insanely rich overnight but retained the value framework of a middle class 50-something twitter-obsessed edgelord from the dot-com era.
And he has no introsection.
It's like Hitler in 1941 getting obsessed with painting W40K Space Marines miniatures, but b/c of bad hand/eye coordination he has to hire minions to do it for him. So he's a seething ball of spite and rage as a result.
Meanwhile he's losing a war.

@carlysagan @juergen_hubert Not disagreeing with that limit (I think it could be lower) ... but planetary gross product is about $80Tn/year; Dilbert Stark's total lifetime accumulated wealth—the richest manchild ever—is only about 48 hours' global production.
Consider how helpless this makes him feel.

@juergen_hubert @cstross there needs to be a global limit on wealth bc this is inevitable when an attention-seeking rando gets too much money. If you’ve attained $1B, you should be legally done with acquiring more. It’s insane.

@carlysagan @cstross He is a sexist social media embarrassment who gets to shape American government policy and plunder billions, and promotes fascism around the world. I can't help but notice that he is promoting the main German fascist party just before our federal elections, for instance.

Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) did this experiment and it was very enlightening, and he is not even a rich asshole.
