   Romania election scandal.
   
   Judge stopped the election due to people voting wrong after a paid campaign on tik tok. But the campaign was organised by the ruling party.
   Romania " intelligence services" broke the plot as an act of foreign interference. Someone didnt tell them its a false flag.
   
   Now they are all scrambling to cover their own asses

     I recently saw a comment that explained that ruling party appointed every judge that determines who can run for elections. And they had the opportunity to disqualify this guy at any point they wished. But they didn't because the plan was they wanted it to be them and this other anti-establishment guy in the run off election to make it an easy win. But it backfired when the ruling party came 3rd and didn't make it to the run off.

     I can't stand the unquestioned assumption that a tik tok campaign can constitute grounds for "interference" that would invalidate an entire election. Utter bullshit.

     @grips @Paultron @IAMAL_PHARIUS Yeah, the PNL buying the support of influencers for Georgescu through a middleman company is real.
     
     Commentators speculate they did it because they, for some reason, thought he had no chances of victory and that he would just "steal" votes from the other "nationalist" party AUR.
     
     I don't know how and why that would be important. I don't know why they didn't just steal the election in the first place. It is certainly hilarious that the situation got out of hand for a few moments or so. :blobsmilesweat:
     
     I think Georgescu will not be allowed to run a second time, either officially through a brute-force ban or through indirect sabotage (by having hired people screw with his signature lists for example).
     
     Georgescu himself is the best candidate Romania ever had for this position. And he is certainly better than anything the west ever had since the end of WW2. But he still did shit things like supporting moving the Romanian embassy to Jerusalem, pro-trump statements, etc. I hope the latter parts is just play-acting.
     
     Ultimately Georgescu is worth supporting and vooting for (if only to see if he will either cuck or do anything of note), but it won't be a tragedy if his run for presidency fails.
