   Scenes from last night's #NightParade in #SanFrancisco. Marching bands, LEDs, puppets, and yo-yos in celebration of the winter solstice. I had a blast. Thanks to Raining Chainsaws for organizing and the community for coming out in the rain.

     @jwz mostly through fliers, but this one I heard about through word of mouth.

     Almost all of my favorite events this year were found via a sheet of paper.

     I think some artists and organizers are intentionally trying to keep things IRL, so they totally skip the traditional web promotion (creating a website or sending links to folks like Stuart or Johnny Funcheap).

     I think about this a lot as someone who wants to promote local events yet doesn't have time to share every cool flier.
