    Received a letter from the German government to inform me that I now have commited "verkehrssicherheitsbeeinträchtigende ordnungswidrigkeit". And that I now have 1 point in my "fahreignungsregister".

    Also the letter includes a goofy photo of my face.

    And because I'm Dutch it also includes a Dutch translation, but it's like uncomfortably formal (like a German would). Like this is 10 times more formal than how the Dutch government writes letters and it's super uncanny to read as a Dutch person.

    This country isn't real 🇩🇪

      Thankfully the Germans have made a machine to eat their whole country up.

      @Suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com No, it was only 70 kmh in a school zone this time.

      And this was at 3 am so does that still even count as a "school zone", come on bro

      @SuperDicq In most countries the school zone limits only applies during school hours, but I guess Germany is different.

      @Suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com The Netherlands doesn't even have school zones defined in traffic law.

      We just implement actual working traffic calming measures around schools so we don't have to implement different set of traffic laws for schools.

      @SuperDicq I see "traffic calming measures" as a challenge to see if I can get through them dead on the speed limit tbh.

      @Suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com I gotta say there are cities here that want to make their city centers for electric cars only.

      This unfortunately means that people who drive older cars without any shitty software are not allowed to drive in those cities anymore, just cars that come fully loaded with proprietary crap.

      @zentinel17@masto.ai @Suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com No, in the Netherlands we have a weird rule where you can not lose your license from a speed camera ticket. It can only be taken from you if you actually get pulled over by a cop car.

      Lucky it was in Germany. Back home they might have gone after your license for that speed.

      @Suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com I don't live in the city so I'm not actually concerned that older vehicles will actually get banned where I live any time soon.

      @SuperDicq
      It's still twice the speed limit assuming school zone would workout to a 30km/h zone here. The public prosecutor could still ask for a suspension at trail.

      @besserwisser@shitposter.world People who think they are important (but really aren't) like business executives, banks, lawyers.

      The Dutch government has policies in place that make it so all communication should be as simple and clear as possible so the average citizen can read it and know what is expected of them.
