   I mean liberals spent a solid 14 months yelling at me that I was wrong when I said "these bougie Dems will betray trans people at the first opportunity so don't pretend we're on the same side" but I mean... that's exactly what happened.

   Getting really tired of dipshits who think politics are vibes-based telling me how to fight fascism they don't understand and can't identify beyond "GOP bad."

     I guess they just loathe the stupid MAGA dudes as much as Trump does, but admire the "brilliant" tec dudes of late and their promise to sell out. Comes down to mere cosmetics and the way they want to sell out, doesn't it.

     @GNUmatic @AnarchoNinaWrites It's always interesting to me how even in European countries with multi-party systems there's been a similar shift in power towards far-right coalitions, with "centrists" always siding with the conservative right and never the liberal left.

     (No but I mean seriously tho; in order to embrace capitalism as an ideology, economic system, and social organization rubric you pretty much have to embrace hierarchies and the idea that some people deserve to be extracted from. Fundamentally the "liberal" wing of capitalism simply agrees a lot more with the nazis than they do with us (the left) - it's why they're at best temporary allies and at worst active wreckers.)

     @GNUmatic @AnarchoNinaWrites Yeah, something like that. I mean, they can't effectively be a staged opposition party if they're very openly championing MAGA policies.

     There always has to be an intermediary step to provide cover -- a rotating villain within the party (Manchin, Sinema, Kelly, Fetterman, Kaine), a pesky impartial Senate Parliamentarian, seeking the approval of seditionists their speaker seated in Congress... They want Trump policies but need a not-Trump to rally behind.
