Dozing in and out reacting from the shingles vax today while my wife watches her baking shows, waking up with every damn loud and repetitive commercial. This kind of streaming is doomed if they can’t sell more and different ads. So are the advertisers.
@WarnerCrocker On a side note, I’m sort of enjoying the after effect of vaccines as I age. Oh, I’m gonna be napping for a day or two. Fuck off. Leave me alone. I’m a hero!
@chessert@WarnerCrocker I don't know. I find that the free streaming I do has fewer ads than the broadcast tv I watch. And since they tend to run the same 2 or 3, their easier to tune out. Also, the ad breaks are at specific intervals that sets a rhythm that's smoother than broadcast.
@SteveJB@chessert I find the ad breaks, though timed in intervals, to be sloppy insertions, especially in the content like my wife was streaming last night.
No streaming services here, except MLB.tv (Cubs games). It doesn't take long to get used to no advertising. I watch YouTube videos without ads for free using Firefox's browser with a couple extensions added. Any movies, etc. I want to watch, I buy used DVDs on eBay. The billionaires can yell all day all they want: I'm not listening, and not hearing a thing. 🤷♂️
