   This is a ThinkPad T480, *with Libreboot pre-installed*, with replaces proprietary BIOS/UEFI firmware. Your choice of Debian Linux, other distro or BSD.

   Libreboot offers greater security and faster boot speeds than Lenovo firmware. T480 is 8th gen (Kabylake Refresh); it replaces Libreboot T440, which was 4th gen (Haswell).

     @Alephwyr nope. in fact, i'm offering several current t440p customers the t480 as an upgrade (at no extra cost) - i'd like to avoid purchasing more t440p if i can avoid it.

     if you really do want to buy t440p though, i'm happy to sell that to you. but i'll sell it at the same price that i now sell the t480.

     @josh not really. i've added like, literally hundreds of things to sysctl config and also kernel cmdline

     mostly works but i know how not to fail. i do lockdown/mitigations on my machine

     @Reshirams_Rad_Slam I normally just run archinstall and pick a desktop e.g. KDE. Easier. It automates most of the arch setup. I might do a bit of tinkering after the fact.

     I'm happy to install Arch Linux for you, if you wish. Please note that while I *can* provide a 1366x768 screen, the T480/T480s that I sell both come with 1920x1080 screens by default!

     I think the 1366x768 machine you refer to is probably the ThinkPad X230. That got canned. I only sell T480/T480s now. It's a better machine.

     @Reshirams_Rad_Slam I can still do them on request, but yeah it's much harder to find them in bulk nowadays, that's why I upgraded all my products to much newer machines, which are more readily available.
