    Yes, yes, they're selling AI to replace developers. 🙄

    (Their definition of coding is actively "typing things into the computer" vs. the process of figuring out what to type into the computer).

      @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org I confess I snapped at my bosses (because who doesn't have more than one?) today, "I get it, I get it, I get it, don't do [x]" that they'd been chiding about for minutes on end. I get it. Don't do that.

      The problem is the requirements change all the time. I can barely keep up with all the changes in Good-Ole-Boy direction.

      @ai6yr And also the process of "listening to stake holders to unscramble their mystery requirements".

      Good luck having AI figure that out.

      @tsturm
      @ai6yr Most people can't write a product brief, let alone an AI prompt that would write the whole thing for them.

      @mrdiamondj @ai6yr I've had full teams of professional product people try and describe to our team what they want in a web site UI and fail miserably over weeks of meetings.

      Translating the expected user behavior into actionable outcomes with software is very, very hard.

      And even once the requirements are written, a good engineer will still often need several hours and quite some experimentation to translate this into maintainable code.

      Writing the code is then often the easy part.

      @tsturm @ai6yr Agreed. Heck, it's even difficult to properly clone the experience of another website when it's sitting there right in front of you due to the built-in complexities and idiosyncracies of your existing codebase!
