but in s3e4 we just invented the phrase "interfere-o-metric pulse." 🤨 they're pulses. that interfere. that's just brilliant sci-fi writing, people. 😐
*like, the ghost of Chakotay's dad sends Voyager into a trap that gets their ship fuckin stolen for a kid that's not even his.

@botvolution i don't even care about the performance, per se. but as the character is written? racist nonsense. plus he's a fuckin dunce. his maquis crew was mostly *not* maquis (tuvok, seska, and suder was a literal psychopath). he makes the worst, *obviously* bad decisions.
the show as a whole (so far) feels like repeated interesting setups or concepts, ultimately followed by melodramatic plotline nonsense that diminishes the whole affair.

The thing that I noticed over and over again about VOY is that it had some of the most interesting, thought provoking, well-scripted & acted eps in the whole ST universe, but also a vast amount of that terrible melodramatic stuff you hate plus an inordinate reliance on technobabbly deus-ex-machina.
