I just learned that there was a cult 70s movie starring Vincent Price and Peter Cushing, with Alec Guinness ("Murder by Death"), that NEVER gained a following among Elstree Studios horror fans! Even though it spawned a sequel that starred Christopher Lee!

Lee, Price, and Cushing alone should make it an all-stars horror movie, even before you add Guinness in a supporting role. What is WRONG with you people?!?

@InsertUser I'm not familiar with the wider setting (everything after the second movie is Dead To Me).

@cstross It's also a setting where it's just accepted that you might have parts of your diseased body scooped up and put in a machine to keep you useful rather than actually fixing your ailments and where running away is prevented by implanted explosives.

@dfyx Ask yourself what movie, released in 1977, was largely filmed as Elstree Studios and featured Alec Guinness, Peter Cushing, and Vincent Price? Also another actor who was in "The Blues Brothers" and one who was in "American Graffiti"?

@cstross wait, no. Price was not in the one I was thinking of. I may have in fact missed the joke.

@cstross technically, the ones with Lee were more like prequels
