@tante Every day I hear of some executive or researcher who calls their own "AI" products dangerous ("could destroy all humans within a year", "breached containment", "hacked competitors", "doom loop") but not a single one of them has enough brain cells to come to the conclusion that they should maybe, probably, under circumstances... STOP DEVELOPING THEM!
@evan I finally found my problem. Both followers and following collections need to be paginated, even if either of them is empty. Mastodon retrieves both and checks if a "first" property is present. If not, it marks the account as "hide_collections" = true.
@evan I haven't. Thanks for the info, I'll look at it once I'm a bit further along. Currently my main problem is getting Mastodon to display my stuff at all.
I'm beginning to understand why there are so few blogging platforms that work with #activitypub. I thought I'd make my own as a weekend project and while it shows up fine in https://browser.pub/, getting #mastodon to correctly display posts and followers is driving me absolutely crazy.
Why does Mastodon need its own weird special stuff? Why can't it just load the followers and outbox collections like the standard expects? WHY?
@halcy@domi wifi-enabled SD cards are a classic. Maybe a DSLR camera via a modified version of https://www.magiclantern.fm? If you do both, they can federate with each other while sharing a battery!
