     I think it's due to western guys living in gynocentric societies.

     When women are put on a pedestal, and assumed to be equal, of course males are going to wish for daughters over sons.

     For decades, little boys in media have been portrayed as basically retarded, troublesome brats that don't amount to much

     Daughters on the other hand are portrayed as angels who are super smart and grow up successful just by default

     Lisa vs bart simson is an example of this

     This is somewhat also related to the "dumbass dad trope" in media. Where a guy marries a woman way out of his league that he doesn't deserve.

     @ToyotaTime @BowsacNoodle Complete guess, but maybe because they envision this fantasy "beautiful family" in their mind, and tend to associate the more delicate cutesy aspects of it, and because of it, focusing more on daughters.
     
     Same would go for envisioning a "strong" family, theres a focus on sons

     @ToyotaTime @BowsacNoodle I agree with what everyone else is saying (gynocentric, low T, etc etc) but I also think there is a degree of universal bugman appeal to it: they show daughters because they want the focus to be on the woman, the object of desire for the male audience. If they showed a dude with a bunch of sons that looked like him, that dude might differ from the nigger-brain consumer and make it harder for him to self-insert, which would hurt the appeal. It is subversive though, men should want to breed to have kids who have their genes and carry on their traits. Simply wanting miniature versions of your wife running around is cuckoldry, any man can breed a woman to make children with her genes but only you can breed a woman to make children who have YOUR genes.

Women are victims and followers, they won't be able to stand up to hordes of others or do anything of historical significance besides have children, they'll just morph to suit their partners. Daughters may increase your genetic chance of survival but your descendants could all end up godless degenerates if you don't raise any strong-willed men.

You could have the sons, but an image needs to have good memetic impact, and the half second it takes for your brain to parse that those are supposed to be your sons are taking away from it. Like yeah, if I were to create state propaganda, I would include sons, but if you're trying to create a viral image, it's just going to be women, and that's male nature.

     I'm not saying that this is always the case. Maybe these memes of guys with all female children are a reflection of men who want to provide and protect for women. These guys just really want to sacrifice for females, which is normal.

     The biological drive to protect women might indeed lead a man to prefer daughters. Kind of crazy though as your basically envisioning a life of servitude.
