   I actually think the problem is that we’ve structured society to make parenting basically torture. People used to be able to rely on a network of caregivers to help. The idea of the nuclear family exploded all that. There’s no amount of money that can replace a deep social network when it comes to child care.

     That's my reality since a couple of months as a French born Canadian. My "village" is very limited, and money wont make people care more about your kid. Just less likely to do wrong.
     And i consider myself lucky because pat / mat leave are very long.
