San Francisco politics junkies will be like, "We could fund it with the Prop I revenue, or maybe Prop C" and you're expected to know that they don't mean the props that were assigned letters C and I this November, nor this March, nor in 2022, but rather the November 2020 Prop I and the June 2018 Prop C

@scott Washington State statewide measure numbers don't start over every year. Ever since moving here, I've wanted California & SF to adopt that numbering scheme, because I get SOOOO confused which prop is which here.

(Also, state bills should have the year included in the bill number. SB35? Nah, should be SB17-0035!)

Fuck. I've fucked up my own joke. I meant to reference the November 2018 Prop C. June 2018 was, as everyone knows, "Baby C." What an idiot. Disqualified from running for supervisor forever

@kingrat Just assign each proposition a UUID

@scott Best way to find out how quickly the UUID space gets used up too!

@kingrat @scott the confusion truly is real.

I used to use auto-numbering IDs, and then I used UUIDs. But now, I require that all IDs *mean something*.

So, and invoice number may be
      [ClientCode]-[Year]-[Month]-[InvoiceNumber]

      If I see:

SF-2023-09-004 Then I know it's the forth invoice I sent to Sales Force from September of 2023

      Even little things:

OrderStatus used to be all numeric. Now, all codes in the tables.

I can open up almost any table in the database and visually tell you a LOT more about the record than I could before.
