@ageha @J @toiletpaper I have never seen a good post free will proposal for for society/government. I assume such a proposal would not have things like jails. I am not trying to be glib though, I am trying to understand what the value of beating people over the head that they don't actually have free will is. -

@sun @toiletpaper @ageha Fwiw the only good arguments for free will are utilitarian. "I can't figure out how to legislate fairly without it therefore we're just going to say it exists."
The solution to the problem imo is to just say there is no one thing you can call a "will"

@J @toiletpaper @ageha I don't think for example anyone has a plan for "nothing anyone does actually matters" because subjectively it does but things like "responsibility" are a different story, nobody should be punished for anything the focus should be entirely on emelioration and prevention.
