   i worked for Klamath Riverkeeper when RFK Jr was less slightly bonks and was the long time president of the Waterkeeper Alliance, which protected clean water by suing over the Clean Water Act (a major tactic in Klamath dam removal, btw). I’m still close friends with other people who were in that movement and we’re hoping some fraction of RFK’s 20+ yr commitment to clean water is still in there, but it really feels like a darth Vader situation

     @sarae I just wish we could steer both RFK lovers and haters toward the need to get corproate greed out of health care and out of our whole medical system. people are right not to trust a system that profits immensely from cancer and pumps out doctors who are unable and unwilling to turn that ship around

     and no I didn't give my kid autism by getting them vaccinated, fuck right off with that dehumanzing crap and learn to value and respect neurodivergent people

     @seachanger will admit I've found it pretty funny people freaking out about how we're all going to die if we follow some of RFK's advice

     people I live in Oregon we don't have fluoride in the water, we get that from mouthwash and the dentist, it's fine

     and I rarely wear sunscreen and the dermatologist says my skin is in amazing shape...because I don't like to apply any chemicals to myself when I don't absolutely have to, so I wear a big hat and long sleeves

     @seachanger yeah, he seems to have gone off the rails, even the health stuff where I'm like, sure he has a point...he's taken it to the most bonkers extreme

     on the other hand, all these big ego guys, you have to wonder how long they're going to actually show up for meetings with each other

     it's like the opposite of a functional team of professionals
