     I always heard millenials saying that Gen X were spiritual boomers. I never heard Gen Xers saying anything particularly negative about boomers, other that they refused to retire, which has cut Gen X out of the promotion game.
     
     Gen X tended to be more libertarian / anti-authoritian than previous and subsequent generations. And that was their general focus, not boomers.
     
     Ironically, and despite the anti-boomer sentiment, millenials have established themselves as the neuvo-boomers as of the election. After all of the shit... I am laughing.

     @Humpleupagus @AshChapelsGhost Gen X were pioneers of anti-boomer resentment, not sure if Colbert and Stewart made the cut off really but they rode that wave out of the 90s and into Bush regime commentary after the milennium

     Hipsterist detachment and being too cool for school (and yet 'overeducated in things that are lies') didn't do us any good either.
     
     It took us too long to realize we'd been sold a pig in a poke, and by then, our children had been poisoned by the people pushing lies that they were somehow born evil and the system, which mostly works unless lunatics are at the helm, has to be torn down and replaced with one that never worked.

     @Humpleupagus @AshChapelsGhost I'm a millennial and maybe I can't speak with the most authority but going by what I perceieve to be Gen X culture I find a key theme is serious distrust of authority and cynicism from coming into adulthood in the 90s and being trapped in a corporate hellscape (ie cubicle work depicted in American Beauty, Fight Club, and Office Space). Millennials were bitter because we graduated into a recession and the comforts of previous generations weren't allotted to us. Gen X seems to have had a comfier life than we did and didn't appreciate it.
