oxy (oxy@snac.bsd.cafe)'s status on Wednesday, 13-Nov-2024 22:01:32 JST oxy @stefano@bsd.cafe @mms@bsd.cafe @vermaden@bsd.cafe I already struggle with OCD and ADHD. Having another source of stimuli would absolutely ruin me. Analog watch all the way 😃
That said, I’m not managing systems for clients anymore so I can afford to put my phone on Do Not Disturb and forget about its existence for a while-

Stefano Marinelli (stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe)'s status on Wednesday, 13-Nov-2024 22:01:37 JST Stefano Marinelli @vermaden @mms Yes, I've had one of those, too. I paid something like 15 euros and used it for a long time. And it had a great feature that Apple Watches or Galaxy Watches do not have: if I take a nap, they stop with notifications until I wake up.
I still have it, but the strap is broken.

vermaden (vermaden@mastodon.bsd.cafe)'s status on Wednesday, 13-Nov-2024 22:01:38 JST vermaden Seems that you need a 'smartband' - not a 'smartwatch'.
I have used one once back in time, Xiaomi Mi Band 3 (now its 5 or 6 available probably) to track sports activities and sleep.
The good thing is that battery last for weeks, not hours :)

Stefano Marinelli (stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe)'s status on Wednesday, 13-Nov-2024 22:01:40 JST Stefano Marinelli @mms I'm always taking care of my (and my customers') servers, so I need to check the notifications in real time. When driving or walking, etc. I like having those notifications on my wrist, without having to pull out my phone.

Stefano Marinelli (stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe)'s status on Wednesday, 13-Nov-2024 22:01:42 JST Stefano Marinelli It looks like I'll have to install the Google Services: my Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 needs them and I can't get rid of it for now.
My next smartwatch will be a simple, notification device. I need notifications when driving, etc. and some outdoor sport tracking but don't need all the other fancy stuff those devices can provide.
