@John_Darksoul@BowsacNoodle modifying covid to do work for us & removing its ability to replicate, given its binding to ACE2 and ability to infiltrate mitochondria is definitely on the table. Like HIV, it's going to be an available tool to biological research going forward
@BowsacNoodle while this specific paper is mdpi TWIV talked a little about this in passing in one of the episodes 59-62. It seems promising , and the sort of thing that it's amazing how little research as of 2009 there was into it --- definnitely one of those things that if we don't destroy ourselves as a species will probably turn into something, like chemotherapy, that helps get cancers under control
@jeffcliff Seems like this is a potential paradigm shift. Instead of progressively damaging the body and immune system via chemotherapy before trying something like this, she opted to work in reverse and leverage the healthy immune system. It's the kind of table flip that, even if not a one size fits all situation, could be used to justify some more novel studies that present ethical constraints prohibit.
@jeffcliff Here's my TLDR from another post. Some key points I thought were fascinating but didn't put in the TLDR: >Tumor swelled off the bat (probably from white blood cells going after viruses). Impure viral strains (not fancy lab grade and was DIY in house). Frequency of injections was high and flipped between the two viruses (kept immune response high and mitigation effects strong). Tumor receeded from muscle it had infiltrated. Viruses shrinking tumors was known for 100+ years). poa.st/objects/eefafdcd-b6b4-47c9-b8ae-7924e00af6f0
