@spacehost_help Hello, I just set up a Friendica with you, and have three questions:
1•Can I have some relays set up on my instance? I did that with this instance as a fast way to get a good connection to the Fediverse
2•Can I get more themes on my instance, particularly I'm considering designing my own, although there is a collection available.
3• Will the version of Friendica be updated? Looks like a rather old version currently.

@spacehost_help That might've been because I transferred over my friends list though I made a mistake so I think it has a few extra friends on there. it should settle down once it catches up, I know with Friendica that tends to be an issue, I think it's trying to sync everything ever from them. That and I was doing customization, adding a user, turning on plug ins (if there's a way to tell if'n one of those is causing a problem, let me know in case one's behaving badly).

@spacehost_help I think it's related to the RSS feature, I'd added an RSS feed not more ten minutes before it went down this time.

We’ve made some adjustments to optimize your server’s PHP configuration for better memory usage and also increased the swap memory file size. This should help with the Out of Memory (OOM) issues you’ve been experiencing.
In the meantime, we’re also exploring any permanent solutions that might prevent these memory issues without needing to scale up the hardware.

@spacehost_help Oh, I just realized that my original three questions never got answered what with sorting out the server issue, and I get to have a fourth, is there anything you can do about RSS issues? I'm getting an error when I try to add Tumblr RSS feeds saying the type couldn't be identified.

- Yes, you can share any themes you want and we can add them
- For the relays, we are not sure of exactly what you mean. Can you provide more details, please?

@spacehost_help It's a little hard to explain relays, but this page covers it well: https://fedi.tips/using-relays-to-quickly-expand-a-servers-view-of-the-fediverse/ Short version, it helps new instances Federate faster. The ones I use here are all invite only so I'd have to get permission to use them over there, but once I do, https://wiki.friendi.ca/docs/initicalconfiguration explains how to set them up.
For themes while I am thinking of making one of my own, there is this repository of them: https://github.com/tonybaldwin/friendica-themes-extra if'n you just want to make more choices available

Could you try doing a hard refresh on your browser? Alternatively, you could try accessing your instance on a different browser to see if it loads correctly there.
If it’s still showing a blank screen, we can revert the theme back to the default for you. Just let us know, and we’ll get it sorted.

@spacehost_help Umm, need a little help (and I'm an idiot). Decided to try one of the new themes using the admin account, and now all I get is a blank screen. I think I'd better create a spare account for testing, that way if this happens again I can just delete it.

@spacehost_help Yeah, I did finally manage to dig it out of the Friendica manual, that thing is not user friendly, and the search function is terrible. Any how, thanks, I'll let you know on the relays soon, thanks.

We've reverted themes to default for all the users on the instance. We agree that you try these themes on new test accounts as these themes are not being maintained by friendica and probably have issues.

I'll be watching the performance, at least in as much as I can, for any issues, though I've been running the first two here which is a basic $20 level hosted Mastodon instance without issue, so problems aren't likely.
