Oh man, no heater winter challenge in Idaho is getting hard. So to cut down on heartattack inducing power bills this winter I'm not using the heater unless my kids come over and only when they ask for me to turn it on. But damn I got two coats, scarf blanket and its still cold lol, its gonna be a tough one. Fuck NNN this is the real challenge (it's 30F right now, -1C)

Here's what I have learned: There is no such thing as an energy efficient heater, because they all directly convert electricity to heat. An oil heater takes longer to warm up, but can radiate heat better which makes it better for rooms you will stay in for a longer period of time, like a bedroom. Other typical glowie heaters are quicker to warm up but don't hold the heat very well, which makes them better for rooms you won't spend much time in.

Oil heaters like the ones pictured do a good job heating small spaces but also don't use a lot of power. May be worth a try

Basically yes. The only reason oil heaters use less power is from the fact they retain heat and radiate it after turning off. Leading to less and/or shorter power cycles and more even heat.
I can tell a huge difference between a room with a radiator heater vs a ceramic. I also see a big difference on my electric bill, the radiator costs less to operate.
Don't have much issues with it personally as propane is my main heat source but the radiators let the kids and us tailor our rooms to our liking and help heat where the propane heat can't get to as easy.

Im in a 4 unit with other people they run the heat, and the daytime usually warms things up. Trust me its like the difference from $50 a month to $120-150 when I crank on the space heaters (electric).

Exploded pipes are more expensive than the heater bill brother - please keep it above freezing at least.

I don't mind bundling up and strengthening my body to deal with cold. Might ask my mom to get me some longjohns for Christmas fuck it.

Plus if I make more video content and music my computer's Intel chip will heat the whole apartment for a fraction of the cost that a tradition space heater will. Shit I might just pull out an old box and compile Gentoo.
