     I didn't realize that comment was directed to me specifically when I saw it in my notifications.

     I've baked fresh pie crusts for cheese cake or otherwise. I learned it from my grandmother, who has baked more home made crusts than the Nazis baked jews (a few thousand). They're so crisp and savory, they balance out the sweet perfectly and add so much texture.

     Honestly not even mine! My grandmother is the piecrust genius and none of us can do it like she could. My mother used to do cheese cakes and put them in her piecrusts.

     Cheesecake is more a pie than a cake. It really isn't either.
     
     Pie crust is good, but it needs a crunch for the softer fillings. That's hard to do.

     But that is an interesting idea to use a pie crust for cheesecake. Never seen it done that way.
