    You see, on Reddit, being slightly negative? Downvoted! Being argumentative? Downvoted!

    The dude that was downvoted, if you reply with something that is anything but asslicking, he'll assume you were the one downvoting. So, downvoted!

    Then at the end of the argument, him being being possibly assblasted enough that you weren't licking his ass, strangely enough, you see a couple more downvoting instantly appear on that post, suspiciously enough :thinky: I've seen something like that happen a strange amount of time, very quickly too

      Not unsurprising, most of the sub where you're basically not allowed to be negative just "strangely" have a big culture of massively downvoting anything not positive, not agreeable, not anything but complete asslicking

      It's like the obvious silent unpleasantness hiding in the "toxic positivity", the very visible dark side in the sub... Except that I'm pretty sure that Reddit automatically hide less than positive posts by default as a setting in your account, so very nice system you have there 👌

      At least anon on 4chan will call me a faggot and maybe explain why, if he isn't baiting

      Oh also, I've seen people use the blocking function as a "I'm losing the argument" button, so you can't contradict their very obvious bullshit that they post right before blocking you. Both times literally happened like that, they literally posted snarky bullshit and then instantly blocked me so I couldn't respond

      You know you're blocked because it's completely obvious, the messages appears as "unavailable" to you, but you can just open private navigation to see them :shrugz: It also ends up preserving their single default upvote lmao

      @Humpleupagus @PurpCat @Mr_NutterButter As I keep saying, the problem with the tree structure and the upvote/downvote is that it's made for Q&A, and link/content aggregation, which it excels at

      Everything else is shit for it

      So like Facebook, Reddit, Twitter (ESPECIALLY when it had a very low character limit), etc. People, instead of joining forums, they're joining fucking comment sections and link/content aggregations websites for discussion and then wonders why discussion has ultimately become completely dysfunctional

      @PurpCat @Humpleupagus @Mr_NutterButter Exactly, in true forum software, everyone is equal, posts are chronological and you have to pass by the posts in order to eventually reach the end. No voting, no bullshit, no tree structure

      The problem is that it's a mess for massive forums. Neogaf and SomethingAwful were miserable depending where you went (never had a Gaf account but I sometimes went there and witnessed the horrors of the news section forum)

      There would probably be some worth in making hybrid softwares, or softwares that share logins so that users could go between a section made for content aggregation and comments, an ephemeral chat (chat is NOT made to be permanent unless it's for a project. Casual chat should NOT be permanent. Fuck Discord) AND a forum for more serious long form discussion
