     @AnnaAnthro @Sollenbum it's more like this is typical xianxia aesthetic. I am still apprehensive as I just have very bad luck with this genre - I disliked almost all the popular dramas in this category lol

     @AnnaAnthro @liztai At least the white fox is cute! Am I seeing things or have they tried to style Liu Xueyi a little like Cheng Yi? They are very different actors so what works for one doesn’t necessarily work for someone else. It is especially the contouring on his cheekbones that seems to mimic Cheng Yi’s look.

     @Sollenbum @liztai OMG 😱 you are sooo right! Cheng Yi is a bigger name these days so is it to boost viewership?! They are such different styles of actors!

     @Sollenbum @liztai Gotta say this is the blandest, most tepid xianxia trailer I’ve ever seen! I’ve always kinda liked their usually torqued up campiness of the trailers! Where’s the demons and pearly clouds?! The headdresses and huge bulky armour?!! 🤣

     @AnnaAnthro @Sollenbum I am actually happy they toned down the headdresses etc. I can't stand them lol. Btw this aesthetic is closer to the genre about 2015 or so, but still quite old fashioned.

     @Katztronaut @AnnaAnthro @Sollenbum lol it's really typical of me. I tend to dislike dramas that are popular for some reason. Didn't like The Double either. For me, it's crucial that I like the acting. If I don't like it, I usually avoid the entire drama 😅. Fangs of Fortune is for those who don't mind that, and like the buzzy cinematics of the director. On the whole I find everything pretentious and annoying 🤣. I hope I have not offended whole of #Cdrama lol

     @Katztronaut I think I would've been more receptive to it during a drier period lol. Kill Me Love Me is a very tough act to follow in terms of acting, so my brain would rebel lol. But yea the great thing about Cdramas is that theres such a great variety to choose from! @AnnaAnthro @Sollenbum

     @liztai @AnnaAnthro @Sollenbum Personally, I think it's good that everybody has different tastes and likes different things, otherwise the creative landscape would be very small and boring! ^^
     I don't really care if a drama is popular or not, I'm only starting to notice these things atm. I go after what visuals I like and if I think the story has potential most.
     What I like about Fangs of Fortune are the stunning visuals, and they haven't slaughtered the story... yet... :P I think the acting is good quality, not top scores from everyone but most are really good. Costume & make-up people did a REALLY good job, I love the look. Except maybe for Zhuo Yi Chen's Rhinestone Cowboy outfit. 😆 I love how the magic works and how they made it look. They did invest wisely in the special effects and that's quite rare. ^^ And, a thing that I find really rare in drama series is how deeply affectionate the whole group acts towards each other (except Miss Brooding Archeress -.-) I wonder where they're taking this. But... I'm only at episode 15... plenty more to possibly pour it all down the drain... or make it fabulous. It's always kind of a lucky bag situation with cdrama, I found. :P

     @Sollenbum I am glad he's getting main leading roles now because he's played supporting roles for far too long. (4 dramas of his where he is main lead, aired this year.) He deserves his time in the sun. There are some dramas of his that I am looking forward to such as A moment but forever and The Princess's Gambit. @Katztronaut @AnnaAnthro

     @liztai @Katztronaut @AnnaAnthro It’s good to have an idea of what you like 😃 I go with the flow and sometimes I check my brain at the door.

     That said, I’m liking “Kill Me Love Me” much more than I thought I would at the beginning. It started off in full melodrama mode, but it has settled into something much better. Liu Xueyi has really come into his own in 2024. Hope he will be offered good parts in the future.
