     It's certain, if you reinstall it from scratch https://github.com/ntdevlabs/tiny11builder
     The amount of resource needed will 200% less bloat.
     But remember that due to CPU frequency change due to thermal efficiency you also need to clean/change the thermal paste for normal as brand new usage.

     You can also know in bleachbit what takes up space when you scan.
     Be sure to go in the bleachbit options to activate the community list (it's immense).

     The worst rig I had done was when I started to work when I was a teen. And in recent years the worst rig I had seen took me three weeks of work because I couldn't do a clean install due to proprietary fuckware that needed phone activation for a company that did not exist anymore.

     @sun @mangeurdenuage I tried everything including a SSD to make an old laptop fast but ultimately it was just too old to be fast with today's software (even Linux). It still removed couple seconds from most operations

     @sun @coolboymew @vriska Be sure to do a file backup first just in case, if this laptop is 1 or 2 years or more old you can be sure it's already around 6000 hours of spin time.
     Also remember to deactivate the "fast boot" to avoid recovery issues, due to fake shutdown (hybrid sleep mode).

     @idiot @sun As I said in another thread, I was trained on windows software, mold by it and I reject it's false and malicious teachings. Not everyone can but these free/libre software can progressively help people getting out of it as they also exist on GNU/linux distros.
