Angry Sun (sun@shitposter.world)'s status on Thursday, 24-Oct-2024 22:04:09 JST Angry Sun so yes it appears that Wine runs everything in WOW64 which means I guess some 32-bit Windows software will never run until that's fixed. -

Angry Sun (sun@shitposter.world)'s status on Thursday, 24-Oct-2024 22:05:21 JST Angry Sun @meeper I found people saying that it just doesn't work. The bottle I made is 32-bit Windows XP. -

Zergling_man (zergling_man@sacred.harpy.faith)'s status on Thursday, 24-Oct-2024 22:06:50 JST Zergling_man @sun You can forcibly make a 32-bit prefix with WINEARCH=x86 (I think), and you should only need to specify that when creating the prefix. -

Can you coerce it into running a program from CLI? If so, try throwing WINEPREFIX/WINEARCH arguments into it and see what happens. -

翠星石 (suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com)'s status on Thursday, 24-Oct-2024 22:23:57 JST 翠星石 @sun Why are you throwing away your freedom?
Pretty much, 32bit support in WINE Is Not an Emulator is dependent on 32bit versions of all of WINE's dependencies being installed.
WINE wants to go pure 64bit while also supporting 32bit, but the process isn't done yet.
Other than notepad++, I don't see any windows software that is worth running even if you don't care about freedom. -

翠星石 (suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com)'s status on Thursday, 24-Oct-2024 22:28:30 JST 翠星石 @sun I'm not sure if you really need CMYK, as most print shops will just print sRGB files and not give a damn.
Both GIMP and Krita have limited CMYK support and that support is only improving and both of those are priceless.
It's proprietary malware that isn't worth a damn. -

for printers that will only accept CMYK and Photoshop files, you can open your PNG in krita, change to CYMK and export as a photoshop file.翠星石 likes this. -

hmm, for Krita, is auto shifts to closest. Then, it really does matter how good a printer is. A good one I worked with, usually output looking like what I designed in RGB.
Did have one that was... way off. But, this could be accounted for, by taking a photo of theirs and a better print. And, then linearly shifting the whole image to offset the difference.
Ended up with prints that looked just right in the end xDAngry Sun likes this. -

Yeah, the quality distribution has been very non-linear.
And, if you want someone to handle the details for you, it takes 20x the cost.
As a result, it is, somehow worth the effort to be an expert in printing, do 90% of the related work yourself, and pay one or two intermediaries to pass the completed work to the printer, and pass it back to you xD (gate keeping services behind distributors is, retarded)Angry Sun likes this. -

Angry Sun (sun@shitposter.world)'s status on Thursday, 24-Oct-2024 22:47:38 JST Angry Sun @hazlin @Suiseiseki there are a lot of print shops, most in fact, that don't do cmyk at all, they only understand rgb and don't know about monitor and printer color profiles and can't tell when color is wrong. -

Even if you give them CMYK, it still may not look right. I honestly just, don't think they care.
Some places just, require an iterative processes, of test prints, and adjusting what you give them.Angry Sun likes this. -
