@georgia young indian men have a habit of immigrating and buying teslas while not knowing how to drive, because of which they keep creating chemical explosions on the roads near my house :clueless_chicker:

@georgia listen im not going to say it's the whole reason but it's happened twice now in a town of <1000 people we can only handle so many explosions per year before people start getting testy

@georgia Outside of the major cities India is a beautiful country. I have a few friends that migrated here from India and they are good people.

Most people judge India from the stereotypes they are fed by the media, which is a shame because its actually a great place of many contrasts.

@georgia I think part resentment since Indian immigrants are disproportionately high-income or in management, and most Americans' interactions with India are by call centers or scams. Any time you have to call a company to get something fixed, you're already in a bad mood.

@lain @georgia @sj the problem is they dont do that. the pajeet problem is one of many instances of foreigners not conforming to the practices of the nation they move to. india just so happens to be exceptionally unhygenic, and civil pride basically doesnt exist there. that's why you have beaches being closed down for e-coli outbreaks due to the pajeets shitting on the sand bar like they do in india. garbage is thrown on the ground instead of a proper receptical, and they're very very rapy. rape in india is about on par with the congo.

there's also a huge industry in india for forging credentials. whenever you get an indian for an important service and they can barely speak english, you can be certain they ate learning on the job while earning a full salary.

throw it all together and you have waves of foreigners with fake degrees who are sexually aggressive, throw their trash wherever and shit on the ground like dogs. is it any wonder why they're so disliked?

@Nudhul @lain @georgia @sj My experiences with Indian people outside of India have been mainly my mother and father's coreligionists, random people I see but don't talk to who look South Asian, and one guy who used to be on fediverse. They have been 95% positive. Nothing that rationally justifies concluding bad things about them as a group.

However, I have been to Kerala and got really ill there. So there's that.
