   Is @element going to tolerate anti-Russian racism comments under this bug report which demonstrates Element Android does not allow people to log in to any account if matrix.org cannot be reached? I even see one of the racists is a Contributor to the repository.

     @hj I think the web/desktop version had this problem too (if default server cannot be reached, user cannot login), not sure whether it was fixed or not.

     @tusooa element on android will not let people register new accounts because it uses deprecated endpoint that got removed even in synapse.

     I tried contributing to element (then named riot) and I can say with confidence that their codebase and overall structure - it's enterprise-tier software. It got layers, layers so that they can make branded/tailored verions of element for whomever needs it.
     
     Just trying to add discord-like "dot" notification indicator was pretty much impossible because I'd need to "drill it through" all the layers of that lasagna.
     
     Enterprise-tier software, aka "nothing gets done except busywork and rebranding"

     @hj (shrugs) i'm very dissatisfied with element ui/ux so i started writing my own matrix client, which i'm using daily now.

     @tusooa i just use FluffyChat (on phone) and NeoChat (on desktop). NeoChat is really nice, but android version doesn't start at all for me.
     
     Fluffychat is kinda crap too though.
     
     My only hope is to make pleroma chats more usable.
