   Hillbillies aren't actually stupid, it's they're culture to not flaunt your intelligence. Despite being a VC, Vance is an actual hillbilly. He does it well because it is his culture. Walz is not a hillbilly, which is why his "I'm country" impression always looks like Elmer Fudd.

     That's the kind of thing you might say next to your neighbor who chops wood for a living. And you do it because talking to him about SAFE notes and market cap is really rude.
     
     Hillbilly culture is inclusive in the sense that you speak to the average IQ in the room.
     
     But doing it right is nuanced, and it's very easy to sound like a fucking moron, like this guy.
     
     Also he's wrong, Vance is a cowboy who became a VC. Walz can't understand this because in his mind, a cowboy is not smart enough to be a VC so for Walz, Vance must be a VC pretending to be a cowboy - as Walz is a public school chair-warmer pretending to be a cowboy.

     If you just act like a retard, everyone knows you are one.
     
     Smart hillbillies can talk about complex topics using simple words, and they gracefully adapt their lexicon to the people they're speaking with. It's really an art form.
