     @JauntyArt Also, if you put hashtags at the end of the post (after a line break) they appear as nice wee buttons in the new version of Mastodon too.

     @JauntyArt You can go in & add hashtags into old posts via the Edit option. The only down side is that anyone who has liked or boosted it gets a notification (obviously in case someone changes a post to something unpleasant)

     I did it half way through a weekly series but put a post up that said what I was going to do, so people would know why they reappeared in notifications! I'm sure not everyone read it, but it meant it was sitting in my timeline if anyone was puzzled.

     @JauntyArt Aye, I have a friend who used Insta a lot who says it's been really hammered recently.

     Definitely makes a big difference to visibility here. A lot of people follow hashtags, and it feels like a decent number of people click on them to see more when it's a niche / personal one too. Also a BobFosseAxolotl hashtag will create an awesome single page feed of them all 😁

     @eclectech good idea. I’ve not used hashtags at all with posts and it’s a good idea to include them here like I do on Instagram (not that they are any bloody use one Instagram at all in increasing visibility)

     @JauntyArt I have enjoyed all your dancing frogs and axolotls, but this one is particularly fine!

     It might be worth making a hashtag up when you do series like this. I think it helps a lot on Mastodon, and I definitely see people using my unique hashtags to look back through a series when one of them gets boosted into their timeline.
