@RealCarlos
There are already translations, see https://git.fsfe.org/fsfe/ada-zangemann for the text + Hindi is done but not in the repro yet. I know people are working on Greek, Norwegian, and Korean. Other languages would be great!! For the movie, everyone can do translations as well. Currently we have in the queue German, French, Spanish, Danish, and Italian. Hope afterwards we get donations for more or people are organising them themselves
@BryanGreyson
@kirschner @BryanGreyson Hey! Thanks for movie!
Can't we "just" translate it to other languages also on the audio track? I mean there are probably some talented speakers out there, who could accomplish the task.
First step would be an official text file per language of course.
@BryanGreyson
We would be glad if you would be able to improve the file I shared. We would then make it available for others to further improve it. The others who have worked on it until now are also volunteers like you :)
@BryanGreyson @fsfe there was a SRT file which was shared on the FSFE translator list (it was created with an automatic tool and then some first fixes). Maybe it helps if you are creating a more professional version: https://share.fsfe.org/s/PjCskmkmcjZFMEz
@kirschner First off, thank you for the link, I'll check the file out in a bit.
I don't know if what I do should be considered "more professional" to any degree. 😅
The question is, though, if you already prepared that file, if that means you have plans to do the captions from an official side yourself then, of course, there's no reason for random-guy-me to "compete" with you or anything, I'll just patiently wait and see, then. 🙂
So, I don't wanna meddle with your work is what I mean. 😁
@fsfe First off: congrats on this! It's a very nice rendition of the book and a very pleasant voice to listen to.
Sadly I had to see there are no official captions, asides from Youtube's bad, automated ones.
I started working on them and will most likely be able to finish them later today and MAYBE do a German translation (based on the book) as well.
If you'd like I could, once finished, provide the WebVTT or SRT caption files for you to upload it to the sites, if you want. 🙂
