     @bonifartius one reason they hate RMS so much is that he's not a passive libertarian type, he's actively and aggressively anti-corporate, to a fault, which is why they've never really been able to get a strong foothold at the FSF.

     @bonifartius @sun like i wouldn't mind finagling a little rebol interpreter to build OS packages. nix seems to be pretty popular, if a bit crippled by its unnecessarily complex language, and them enacting the stalin purges would have been a great selection window to catch escaping users from.

     that particular disease tends to come to steal the clout, though. there's more to running python than just having a codebase. its the branding, installer, institutional support and recognition, etc, the play is always to skinsuit the institution so they can loot its legitimacy for their insane shit until people finally realize its poisoned and someone else has to go through all the pain of building a reputation again.
