   Internet experts/hackers/coders of mastodon, question for you from someone that doesn't know a thing about this (aka me).

   Could a website be a torrent?
   As in, could a website be distributed by multiple users, like torrent files are, and be read basically instantly, like websites are, without the website being stored on a central accessible server?

     @Plutonaut If it is a static site you'll just need to open in your browser. Otherwise you'd need a webserver, db ... running on your local computer. You could build the site with TiddlyWiki for example. If it'll be edited than its hash will be destroyed, so you'd need to create a new torrent for every version. Inconvenient for collaborative distribution.

     @Plutonaut A bit like that. It can be changed but every change to the file will cause a new issue of the site. It's content won't synchronize the files that you all have on their local drives. You'd have to replace/overwrite them every time a new version is published.

     @morph so it would be more like a print newspaper or indie zine (but digital) than a website, because it can't be changed?
