#Mastodon Can we have server side language recongnition? Client side is broken, given how many non-english things are posted as english.

BeAware :fediverse: (beaware@social.beaware.live)'s status on Sunday, 29-Sep-2024 21:53:04 JST BeAware :fediverse: @fabiscafe it's not broken, it's working as intended. It's just that the language settings for posts are kinda invisible and nobody changes it. Also, people who post in multiple languages have to change it for every post, which gets annoying I'm sure.
Also, even if everyone set their posts correctly, it only works on public timelines. Your home timeline would still show nob-english posts if they're boosted to your timeline.

For example this one should be marked as English, while my default is german.
The problem is with 3rd party clients that do not support it or do a bad job with it. This kinda defeats the purpose of this whole feature.
Yeah, server side is probably a bad idea that isn't going to work, but how could one improve this situation?
