@givenup @heytomjones @tyler The realization of my own bitterness causes melancholic "depression" at a young age. It's why I get shitty with people who post about how it's so over and billions must die when they haven't taken the time to fix themselves for their own sake. I've said it before, but I was a volcel for a while too and it's because I wanted to fix myself FOR ME and not anyone else. I had planned for it to be permanent if there was no other way, but God had other plans.

we use beef tallow and pig lard, as well as some almond, avacao, olive pomace, and or sunflower oil, castor oil makes soap lather more, sugar also accomplishes this.

for mosturizing hair and skin
i used to put raw coconut oil in my beard cuz i use it for ospa, so i'd just wipe my hand in my beard while working
my beard became so soft

I used to make veggie soaps. Olive oil or palm bases. But definitely used Shea and cocoa butter, too. Other non-base oils to achieve specific qualities for custom soap loaves.

@givenup @FreeinTX @heytomjones @tyler So olive oil doesn't bind as well to lye and you end up with a vert "oily" soap? Not a lot of free fatty acids in olive oil and it's primarily oleic acid, so maybe that's why?

@BowsacNoodle @givenup @heytomjones @tyler I didn't know about the "castile" soap, but olive oil will make a good lye soap but it makes the average quality tiered soaps. It's better than palm or lesser seed oils, but like he said, that coconut oil makes the best veggie soaps. That's top tier.

we make our soaps with more fat than lye ratio to become "superfatted" which means that not all the oils even get captured.

Labor is great but becomes harder as you age. Entrepreneurship is great and you can do it better as you age because of experience. Blend all three and you can be successful in all weather.
