Finally downloaded a RSS feed reader (using inoreader) to my phone after only using one on my desktop computer until now and it rules. It’s silly to be like “I can read articles on my phone. This is great!” but it is! I can just read what I want without missing anything because I didn’t check social media at the right time

I use the News app on my Nextcloud server to subscribe to RSS feeds and then point all my readers at that.
https://apps.nextcloud.com/apps/news
My one caveat is that it gets unhappy if you point it at extremely busy RSS feeds (like the main EuroNews firehose, for example), to the point where deleting the feeds required me to go in and manually edit the file where my feed list was defined.

But it does feel like a dedicate self-hosted RSS server ought to be a thing, doesn't it?

Which I can kind of understand - it's a pretty complex piece of software.
Wonder if there's a specific service for it. I wouldn't mind using a web-based reader on my PC, but I prefer having an app on mobile.
