@Floydian_Psychology That would explain a few things tbh. I always thought the squinting was part of his tough guy act. I can't remember another president who more obviously looked like he was out of his depth than he did after 9/11. It seemed obvious he was reading from a script he didn't understand.

@martianvenator i don't think he was dumb but a typical kind of moderate aspergers guy meaning low social iq, but either middle logical iq or high logical iq and a severe aversion to bright lights and loud noises, he became president because his dad was president otherwise it would not have been possible for someone with such a low social iq

@Floydian_Psychology I forgot all about the pretzel thing. He was mocked about it for months afterwards.

@martianvenator more to my point about him being unironically aspergers syndrome was that he was always squinting when doing speeches, these people hate bright lights more than normal people, same with loud noises

@Floydian_Psychology Yeah, he was nowhere near as dumb as the left memed at the time but he seemed kind of incurious, like he thought it'd be fun playing the figurehead while his dad's old buddies ran things behind the scenes.
I remember hearing that he's a nice guy on a personal level - someone you could meet once and then six months later he'd remember your name and what you talked about.

@martianvenator @Floydian_Psychology I've heard he was incredibly intelligent, and not from people who liked him. This kind of all fits together with the aspie theory

@BowsacNoodle @Floydian_Psychology He's had the decency to keep a low profile since he left office too, which suggests he's not the ignorant blowhard he was portrayed as being.
