@MaryAustinBooks @are0h I'm sure the root of the problem is that it removes the assumed default status. White male cis het like to be considered the stick against which everyone else is measured and compared. Hyphenating removes that default status and I am certain people are losing their heads.

WTF is wrong with that, that is in fact where nearly all my ancestors came from. I mean "white" is shorter but why TF is it even objectionable to call us "European Americans?"
