excellent point and a further clarification:
#canada has a #parliamentary system
parliamentary systems bolster 3rd parties
the #usa does not enjoy this benefit
the full force of #duvergerslaw applies to us
we need #rankedchoicevoting #rcv to vote our conscience in the usa
until then, voting 3rd party in the usa only serves as a spoiler
i don't like that, but it is the unfortunate truth about our fucked up #fptp system: we *have* to vote strategically

whatever gets us #rcv, anything, everything
every american needs to understand how much bullshit in this country just evaporates with #rankedchoicevoting
of course it doesn't solve every problem
but merely the ability to vote your conscience without this endless need for strategic thinking?
that is such a balm for american democracy, in that very simple benefit

the #GOP used to be ambivalent, even helpful about #rcv #rankedchoicevoting like alaska
but national #republican ghouls noticed the problem:
they are for #votersuppression, not enhancing our choices. and so they banned it:

now the #democrats aren't exactly in love with rcv, but there has been successes: maine, nyc, etc
so we must vote #democrat and push them to install rcv. make it an issue in #primary elections #primaries2026
