     @thomasfuchs as an aside I used to hang around with the shoebomber when we were both 16/17. He was no more fucked up than the rest of us back then. It was his time in prison that really sent him over.

     @thomasfuchs I mean, it's mostly security theatre.

     For example, see how ridiculously easy it is to use an SQL injection attack to gain to an airport CASS database which says which crew members can bypass security checks and even gain access to airplane cockpits.
