Windows gaming: it just works!

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahha!
I have no words beyond that.
@killyourfm I've noticed the same thing. While many anticheat programs don't work on Linux; the compatibility with Windows games is actually better, on average at least, in Linux than it is in Windows. I remember having to mod the original Max Payne to get audio working on newer versions of Windows and everything, but a lot of things "just work" on SteamOS/Linux.
@gerowen Indeed. It's a very accurate observation and something I'm definitely seeing as well, especially with all the benchmarking and testing I've been doing.
Windows gaming is kind of a mess.
@ReverseModule I don't know if we can call it a trend, but I certainly hear a growing number of people complaining about it. Wish we had actual data. You'd think an operating system would get more optimized and elegant, but Windows 11 is a disaster.
@killyourfm Am I the only one or has Windows become quite peculiar when it comes to gaming/streaming?
My friend couldn't get Prototype to work on Windows yesterday cause it supposedly needed fewer cores available than what he has. I launched perfectly fine on Linux.
And a streamer I know couldn't stream because she needed to update her drivers first.
Not to mention the overheating issues I still have with OBS on my main laptop (not my old one I posted about before).
Like, is this a trend now?
Update: After trying multiple solutions including switching between DX11/DX12 in the config file, doing a clean installation of the Nvidia driver, and a clean game install, I'm giving up. Guess I can't benchmark Borderlands 3 under Windows on this laptop I'm reviewing.
Works fine under Linux though. Which I'll absolutely be pointing out :D
